Frequently asked questions
How does AquaFinesse work?
The patented formula loosens and removes the biofilm that settles on surfaces and in the pipework, the hiding place of bacteria. This means the sanitiser only has to work in the open water, so the amount needed drops to a fraction, and the water stays soft and crystal clear.
How often do I need to dose?
Once a week. One dose of AquaFinesse liquid into the water, plus the sanitising component (tablet or granules) into the dispenser, and you are done. No daily measuring.
What is biofilm, and why is it a problem?
Biofilm is a slimy coating that bacteria build for themselves on the pool walls and in the pipes, and a slippery-feeling wall is its tell-tale sign. Traditional chemicals cannot get through it, so no matter how much chlorine you add, the problem keeps coming back. AquaFinesse breaks down the biofilm itself.
How long does one water care box last?
For a standard hot tub of 1,000 to 1,500 litres, one Hot Tub Water Care Box lasts around 3 to 4 months with weekly dosing.
My water is foaming. What should I do?
The most common cause of foaming is a build-up of cosmetics, soap residue and organic load in the water. With regular AquaFinesse use it is rare; if it does appear, the answer is showering before bathing, cleaning the filter weekly (with Filter Cleaner) and a partial water change.
How often do I need to change the water?
With AquaFinesse, every 3 to 4 months is usually enough. When changing the water, we recommend the SpaClean tablet: it cleans out the pipework, so the fresh water arrives into a clean system.
Is the system kind to skin?
Yes, this is one of the great strengths of AquaFinesse: thanks to the drastically reduced chemical load, the water is gentle on skin and eyes, and feels distinctly silky to the touch. It is recommended for sensitive skin too.
Can it be used alongside an ozone generator or UV?
Yes, AquaFinesse is compatible with most supplementary sanitising technologies. There is one exception: the sanitising granules in the Ice Tub kit must not be used in a tub with an ozone generator.
How do I know which kit I need?
Use our product picker: three questions and we will tell you. In short: the Hot Tub Water Care Box for hot tubs, the Switch Kit for getting started, the Pool tablets for swimming pools, the Swim Spa Box for swim spas, and the dedicated editions for inflatables and ice tubs.
